Up For Auction is a Solid Wood Oak Dining Room Table & 6 Chairs 7 Piece Set.

The table is 5 ft long x 3 ft wide x 30" high. I believe the table top is Oak but can't be sure.
The chairs have a 37 1/2" tall back and the seat is 18" high x 18" wide x 18" deep.
There are some small scratches and some stains on the table surface; but it could easily be refinished or used as is.

The chairs could use some re-enforcing but are sturdy enough for use; the fabric on the seat cushions is not the original but could also be easily replaced.

This was purchased in the eary 1980s from the workbench furniture store.
This item is for pick-up in Canton, Michigan; or it can be delivered locally for a small fee.

The Eye Bench is Bannavis Andrew Sribyatta and it is a great example of Asian minimalism, okay it is not exactly cheap at over a thousand dollars but you have to love the smoothness of it all. The concave top complement the eye in the middle.

In a way it is suprising that bathroom design has veered towards the clinical , this great bathtub design shows us that the is room for more innovation, I like the pale wood which gives it a very Swedish feel. The fact that it has curves adds to to the warm feeling of a bathtub.

Two Similar Chairs, Two Different Price Points
Here are two chairs. On first inspection, they are similar. Both are based on a Louis XV Berger Chair. A classic form. Look at the front. Look at the back. Ignore the fabrics. Focus on the form. You'll notice the graceful upholstered backs and seats. The carving. The little arm pads on the arms. The cabriolet leg. All hallmarks of the Louis XV4

But when you start to appreciate the details a difference occurs: notice the grace of the shape of the legs; the
craft level involved with the carving; quality of the finishes -- That my friends is the difference in an nice chair by Robert Allen (blue upholstery), and a really really nice one by EJ Victor (brown finish/ivory upholstery) who b.t.w. in Boston is rep'd by Robert Allen Beacon Hill.

It's nice to have a choice of price points and to also recognize the differences. For some people a better price point represents value. For others, higher quality is worth the difference in price.

Green BedRoom Furniture

There are some manufacturer's making great furniture that is kind to the environment, too.
Domino and Treehugger have come out with a list of Green Furniture.
They include pieces from Q collectionQcollection1Qcollection2
They talk about a sofa from Lee Industries with soy filler. I am all for formaldehyde free and other sustainable measures, but I am not so sure about soy as a fill for a sofa.
